Notable Quotes from a 3 Year Old.

Here are some notable quotes from our Jaxon this week:
He's sick. He's been hacking his head off. We've tried to keep him out of Knox's face, and everytime he goes remotely near Knox, we say "Stay out of his face."
Monday Morning, this conversation took place:
Jaxon: Mommy, is Knox better?
Mommy: Knox isn't sick.
Jaxon: Then can I get in his face now?
Ha ha... Hilarious. He thought Knox was the one sick.

Tuesday I was feeling insanely confident about my Motherly abilities, apparently, because I decided to venture off to Paducah with just me and the two boys to hit up a consignment sale. Jaxon was horrible. When I say horrible, I mean like the worst he's ever been in his entire life. For real. In the store he was screaming and climbing out of the cart. People were staring at us and probably wondering what in the world I was thinking taking this child out in public. Don't worry- I was thinking the same thing.
Jaxon: Mommy, everybody's looking at me...
Well duh son. Everyone does stare when you act like a lunatic. It's like a train wreck. You don't want to look, but you have to.

Yesterday Mom and I were trying to kill time in Mayfield while I was getting the oil and brakes changed on my car. We decided to stop by Gotham City Shoes.
Jaxon: Are you gonna try on clothes here?
Mommy: No, this is a shoe store.
Jaxon: Are you gonna dress up like a shoe?

Last night we were on our way home from church and Knox started coughing.
Jaxon: Knox, cover your mouth when you cough! You've got germs!
It seems that he's possibly heard this a time or two before...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some more things that he's said lately that absolutely cracked me up are:
One day at the bank, Jaxon was showing his little brother to the ladies and he said, "He wears me out!"
And when you play basketball with him now, and he wants you to GUARD him, he asks you to GARBAGE him. Sooo funny!
Love this boy!

Memory and a 5 Week Old...

Tonight after church, Daddy and Jaxon played a game of Memory. However, they chose to play it much different than Jaxon and I usually play it.
Yes friends, they played with the cards turned right side up... Hmmmm.
He did find a match though!

And this big guy right here was 5 weeks old today...
He's such a good baby... We are blessed!

Yukky

Jax man is... Under the weater.
I took him to the doctor yesterday and they did a flu swab and a strep test-both of which showed up negative. They said his throat and both ears were very red though. They sent him home with an antibiotic, and now our goal is to keep him as far away from Knox for the next couple of days that we can.

On the bright side though- he did get some sweet new kicks today :)

'Til the Storm Passes By

Til the storm passes over
Til thunder sounds no more
Til the clouds roll forever from the sky-
Hold me fast, let me stand
In the Hollow of YOUR hand
Keep me saft, til the storm passes by...

Our region has seen it's share of bad weather this week and tonight was no exception. There have been lives lost this week due to the weather- and this has turned me into one paranoid Momma. So tonight, we are spending the night at the in-laws house. I'm saying a special prayer for the family who has lost children this week, and I'm saying a prayer that the weather does not do what the meterologists have predicted...

I no longer like storms.

Knox's 1 Month Old Pics

Can't believe that our sweet, sweet boy is already one month old.
Dear Time,
Please slow down a bit. I have a baby that I need to hold.
Thank you,
Knox's Mommy

Where a Kid can be a Kid.

Yesterday I gave Jaxon some choices on where he might want to go to celebrate his birthday. He chose Chuck E. Cheese. So we weathered the torrential downpour this morning, and made our trek to the place where a kid can be a kid.
Daddy and Granny met us there. We ordered a pizza, but needless to say, the birthday boy wasn't exactly down with eating pizza. He was ready to play! We got him a little cake to eat on his birthday, but he didn't want to eat any cake either!
He did stop long enough to pose for a picture with Granny before making his way to the play area.
He played several games...
But more than anything, just wanted to play in the tunnels and go down the slide.
But he got a little scared and disoriented. Apparently he inherited his mother's sense of directions. So Daddy man had to climb up there and help him.
Yes friends, 6 foot 3 inch men do fit in the tunnels at Chuck E. Cheese....
I guess it really is where a "kid" can be a kid...
:)

3 Years Already...

Happy 3rd Birthday Jaxon Thorpe Mason! Jax,

We can't believe it's already been three years since the very first time we held you in our arms. As much as we loved you that day, there's absolutely no way that we could have dreamed that we'd love you as much as we do today...You are the light of our lives- and literally the funniest person that we know. We cannot wait to see all of the things that God has in store for your life- but for now we just want to play baseball and bee bee bumble bee with you and snuggle you as closely and tightly as we can because we don't even want to think about the next three years of your life going as quickly as the first three...
You're the best Jaxon ever and we love you more than our words could ever say.
Love,
Mommy, Daddy & Knox
