Ultimatum...

I think that is what my husband has given me. An ultimatum. He told me that if I didn't start updating my blog more, that I would have to delete it. So I'll try to get on the stick. I'm sure that will make you guys happy! I have so much to catch up on, so be on the look out...

You better watch out.
You better not cry.
You better not pout, I'm telling you why.
Santa Clause is coming to town..............

Mayfield Christmas Parade (11-28-09)

A few weekends ago was the Mayfield Christmas Parade. Our church had a booth set up to give away free hot chocolate. It was amazing how many cups we gave away!
Jaxon and Micah had so much fun chasing each other around a tree... This is one of my favorite pictures of my little man so far this Christmas season.
He tuckered out quickly.
He slept on his Daddy's shoulder through the first part of the parade.
Micah Dale enjoyed the parade from his daddy's shoulders...
And when Jaxon woke up, he finished watching the rest from his daddy's shoulders.
This elf rode this unicycle through the parade. I was impressed.
The grinch...
The big guy and his wife. This was the hi-light of the parade...
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
The Mayfield Christmas parade will definitely become a family tradition for the Mason's. We had no idea what we had been missing out on all of these years!

3 dinners & a belly ache... (11-26-09)

I was trying to think of a title for this post- and I was thinking 3 weddings & a funeral... but that didn't fit. So you got three dinners & a belly ache. That's what we had on Thanksgiving day. That's right folks- three dinners.
Our day started at 9 a.m. We went to Nana and Pappy's for a HUGE home cooked breakfast.
It is a rare occassion for me to get a picture of Moo Moo looking at the camera... Here are all of the boys watching the Thanksgiving day parade on T.V.
Miss Ava always smiles for the camera...
After we ate breakfast, we decorated Nana and Pappy's Christmas tree. Here is Jax putting on his ornament.
And Ky-Ky putting on his...
At 11, we went to my aunt's house for lunch with my family. Here are Jax and Addi sitting at the little kids table eating dessert.
And here's the spare bedroom at my aun't house after the little kids were finished destroying it...
Our last stop of the night was at Justin's aunts for supper...
Moo Moo and Jax like to ride Ky-Ky.
Gavin can't wait to be big enough to get in on the action...
Justin's cousins and I kind of have a Thanksgiving night tradition... for the three or four years, we have gone to Wal-Mart after supper. We always let Justin's youngest girl cousin, Mallory, the one with the most questionable driving record, drive for some strange reason.
Bridgette and I took this picture in the backseat of Mallory's car, just in case my camera survived the wreck and this was the last picture ever taken of us... :) By the grace of God alone, it wasn't...
So, we live to face another Thanksgiving and another three dinners in 2010.
We are blessed to have such wonderful families...

No Fever.

It's Thursday morning, and Jaxon has got up without a fever for the first time all week. Praise the Lord! Thank you all for your prayers. I know that I am extremely behind on keeping up with my blog... but I felt like I needed to update everyone on how Jaxon was doing before I posted any more pictures. So today's posts will be a little out of order... to say the least.
It all started Sunday. Jax was clingy and acting kind of weird all day. I didn't think he felt good, but he wasn't running a fever. About 1 o'clock Monday morning, that all changed. He woke up crying and was really warm. At 4:30 a.m, his temp had reached 102.3. I was supposed to keep Bailey Monday, so I called Kelly and told her Jaxon had a temp and that she might want to make other arrangements for Monday. All day Monday, we battled fever. I had decided that I would take him to the doctor Tuesday morning, because we were having a hard time breaking his fever.
Justin, Jaxon and I went to bed at about 9:45 Monday night. We were laying in bed reading, and at about 10, Jaxon threw up all over me and him. It was a little scary because he acted like it really hurt, like he used to. Jaxon and I were both covered in puke, so we got in the shower. When I got finished, I left him in the tub while the water drained, while I went to the bedroom to put some clothes on. I then went and got him out of the tub. I laid him down on the couch to put a diaper on him and all of a sudden, his eyes fixed and he got really stiff. His mouth was really strange looking and drool started running out of the corners of his mouth. I kept asking him to look at me, but his eyes were fixed and he wasn't responding at all. I yelled for Justin to come in there. Justin tried talking to him, but he couldn't get a response either. We started grabbing stuff to go to the hospital. We tried putting clothes on Jaxon, but we couldn't get his clothes on because his arms, legs, back and neck were so stiff. He was gasping for breath and his lips were turning purple. We wrapped him in a blanket and ran to the car. I held him in the front seat. Justin called 911. When we hit 121, Jaxon finally came out of the seizure. His little body went limp and he looked up at me. I said, "Mommy's got you buddy, okay?" He said, "Okay." He was finally responding after being in a seizure for almost ten minutes.
When we got to the ER, they were waiting on him. His temperature had reached 105.6. They (after much effort and many sticks) got him hooked up to an IV and got some fluids in him. They did a cat scan and a chest x-ray. They did a flu swab and a strep test. Everything came back negative. The doctors confirmed that Jaxon had a febrile seizure.
They kept us over night at Mayfield, and sent us home about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. We weren't really happy to be being sent home since our son still had a fever. He ran close to a 104 fever the rest of the day Tuesday. He woke up with a 103.8 fever Wednesday morning. I took a cold bath with him and we went to see his pediatrician in Murray. Dr. Austin confirmed all of the same things that Mayfield did. He had a febrile seizure. We had to get the fever under control. He gave him some amoxicillin to fight off any virus that he may have. The rest of Wednesday was rough and whiny...
And this morning, it broke. Jaxon is still not completely being himself, but he has no fever and he is playing. This is such a huge improvement. Thank you all so much for your prayers. We've had a scary week, but I think we may be beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
"At the name of Jesus... the deaf hear, the blind see, the lame walk... and fever breaks."
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus... there's just something about that name...

Pitcher...

That's how Jax says "picture." Pitcher. He goes and sits down in front of the tree and says, "Mommy, pitcher pleeeeeeeeease."
And then he makes faces like this. And this...
But one thing's for certain. I can't get enough of this little boy.

Mondays and Thursdays...

Mondays and Thursdays have been a little different around the Mason house lately.
Instead of there just being one baby- there has been two. We have started watching Miss Bailey two days a week.
I was a little (actually a lot) worried about how Jaxon would be having to share his Mommy with another baby... but you wouldn't believe how well he has done.

He is quite the little helper, and Miss Bailey is absolutely amazed at everything Jax does. She can't take her eyes off of him.
Last week he told her, "Up Bailey... Walk!" He doesn't understand why she's not big enough to play with him... ha ha.

And basically, I'm more sure now than ever that I really could be the mom of two kids. Every day that I've had Bailey so far, I've been able to get both kids to lay down for a nap at the same time... Now that's skill!
We are enjoying our time with Miss Bailey... and I'm loving watching Jax interact with some one smaller than him... and dreaming about the day that he might have a little sister (or brother)... but a girl can always hope right?
