Justin and I have a leadership conference this weekend, and I plan to catch this blog up again soon... but this will have to hold you over until then!
Happy Weekend Everyone!

Jaxon- 2 and a Half!

Summer Splash Retreat 2010- Shine Like Stars

Last weekend was the Summer Splash Retreat in Owensboro KY.
This was somewhat of a miniature church camp that Justin planned for the kids this year.
Jax and I got to tag along, and we had a lot of fun, and I received a blessing...
Here we are singing and worshipping on Friday night. (I look like I weigh 600 pounds, but I promise I don't weigh THAT much! I am 4 months pregnant though!) Daddy had a little shadow/helper all weekend. My name was mud apparently because this little boy could not get enough of his daddy.
The big kids got to enjoy some slip and slide action on Saturday afternoon before the storm hit. This little kid decided that he needed to do some slip and sliding too.
...and he didn't take no for an answer.
After telling me repeatedly that he wanted to do it, and me ignoring him because I knew he couldn't do it by himself, and me, well ya know, being 4 months pregnant couldn't do it with him...
He took matters into his own hands and just laid down on the slide and started rolling.
Daddy was the biggest kid there. I think he enjoyed it more than anyone.
Well, anyone but the littlest kid there, of course.
Dad decided to take a break in the kiddie pool.
and his shadow/helper was right there with him.
We had a wonderful weekend with all of these people...
We are blessed to get to be a part of the lives of these teenagers.

Laughter...

...it really IS the best medicine.

Just a Swinging...

A Clean Baby= A Happy Baby

Jax got so dirty at the ball park last night that he had to have a bath when we got home.
Actually, he got so dirty that I had to wash his hair three times to get all of the dirt out of it.
That's not an exaggeration in the least bit.
After I was finished washing him, the bath water looked like lake water. But a clean baby = a happy baby...

He's just stinkin' precious-
whether he's dirty or he's clean.

Random Pictures and Thoughts from This Week.

Tuesday night, we were about to leave for the ball park and I put my cardinals visor on. Jax decided that he needed to wear it instead... and cried until I put it on him.
So he wore it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jax has not magically turned 12 years old,
although he does look that old in this picture.
----------------------------------------------------------
This is how Jax was sleeping when I went in to wake him up Thursday morning.
He has the life, I tell ya.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was resting in my bed Thursday afternoon after going to the Doctor and the Grocery.
Jax was being way too quiet, so I should have known that something was up.
He ran into my room and told me that he needed a wipe.
When I turned around, this is what I saw.
He had emptied almost a whole bottle of lotion.
But he smelled good.

Why on Earth...

do we spend money on toys?
Just give the kid a box for crying out loud!

Conversations.

We climbed into bed the other night, and Jaxon had approximately 36 silly bands on his arm. They went all the way from his wrist to his elbow. Without any warning, Jax pulls up my shirt and lays his arm across my belly and screams, "Baby, look at my SILLY BANDS!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The same night we were laying in bed and we had finished saying our prayers. We always say the "Now I lay me Down to Sleep" prayer, and before we finish I make it more personal by adding on special prayer requests and asking God to help Jaxon have a good night's sleep. When we had finished praying, he said, "I wanna pway again." I told him okay, but that he'd have to pray this time. He reached for my hand and said, "God is great. Food is good..."

I lost it! It was awesome!

Observations of a Sick Two Year Old

Some kids, when they're sick, just want to lay around, rest and sleep.
My kid wants to lay around and be held, but he under no circumstance, wants to sleep.
He actually just wants to talk... CONSTANTLY.
No matter the time of night, this kid wants to talk.
We've had a rough three nights in the Mason home. Feverish little boy= talkative little boy.
Most of his conversations have revolved around this: "Mommy, Mommy- hey!" "Mommy tell me hi..." "Daddy, Daddy, DADDY!" "Daddy, tell me WHAT!"
He gets really angry if we don't answer him back.
The kid's funny- even when he's sick.

Hanging out with the Cousins.

Today, on this extremely HOT day.... on this day that was way too hot to go outside, Jax hung out with his cousins.
Jonathan and Angie are adding onto their home, so Angie and the kids hung out at Nana and Paps' house today. After Jax and I went to the grocery, we hung out there with them as well.
Ava did a little reading the newspaper (upside down, mind you). And when I brought it up that it was upside down, she gave me a not so friendly look. Apparently I interrupted her leisurely reading.
Jax was super stoked to be hanging out with the cousins.
I think that he was even more super stoked to be wearing Mya's necklace.
Black eyed Moo Moo had fun too.
Last Thursday night, Moo Moo and Jax ran into one another and hit heads. Jax didn't even cry but Mya came away with this rotten black eye.
Poor girl.
And skinny little Kyler somehow produced three chins for this picture.
I'm not sure how somehow who weighs 78 and a half pounds can produce three chins, but apparently it's possible. Who knew!?!
Hanging out with the cousins is always fun.

Conversations.

Jax: Where we gonna eat?
Mommy: Huddle House.
Jax: Puddle House?
Mommy: Yes.
Jax: It's pretty ucky in there...

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Mommy: Mommy's going to a baby shower. You're going to stay with Daddy.
Jax: I wanna take a shower with the baby!

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Mommy: What's your name?
Jax: Jaxshon Mashon.

(It's officially my favorite thing that he says, so I ask him several times a day!)

Slip and Slide Mania...

Yep, he loved it.

A Quarter of a Century.

That's me folks.
I'm 25. The same age as the Dairy Queen Blizzard.
I had a good birthday on July 21st.
Jax and I ate lunch with some friends. Then Jax picked me out this awesome "Buzz to the Rescue" cake that he took full ownership of and did NOT want to share with me.
He even had to blow out my candles. He got mad everytime I told him it was my birthday. It was pretty funny!
My birthday fell on a Wednesday this year, so before church we went out to Mom's for homemade pizza and birthday cake...

I am one blessed girl.
Even though the clock is spinning much faster than it did when I was a kid, I think each birthday keeps getting better and better.
And next year I'll have two sweet little kiddos to celebrate with!
I'm sure it'll be the best yet!

To Get YOU off my Back.

Yes, I know. I'm a horrible blogger.
I did really good while my husband was in England, but I've stunk it up since he's been home.
I'm going to blame the baby (Ha ha...)
Growing a baby is really hard work, and all I want to do is sleep.
So for all of you (ahem, MOM, Deena!) that have sent me such loving text messages about updating my blog... that's what I'm doing now! For you.
To get you off of my back!
:)
