Flashback Friday

I'm going to try to start something new here on the blog. And I'm going to encourage those of you who have blogs to join me and try it too. It's called flashback Friday. Every Friday I'm going to post a picture from the past. It may be from one year in the past to sixty years in the past. As long as it's a flashback, it counts.
Today's picture is of my grandparents. This picture was taken October 21, 1946. This picture was taken the day that they became husband and wife and became one of the most special, inspirational couples that God ever placed together. If my grandfather were still living, then my grandparents would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this week. They made it a few months short of their 60th.
If there were ever two people that influence my life, it was these two.
They were a picture of love.
The song that has always most reminded me of my grandparents is Vince Gill's "Look at Us."
Look at us, after all these years together
Look at us, after all that we've been through
Look at us, still leaning on each other
If you want to see, how true love should be... then just look at us.
Look at you, still pretty as a picture
Look at me, still crazy over you
Look at us, still believing in forever
If you want to see, how true love should be... then just look at us.
In a hundred years from now, I know without a doubt
They'll all look back and wonder how, we made it all work out
Chances are, we'll go down in history
If they want to see, how true love should be, they'll just look at us...
In my eyes, and the eyes of many others, their love will go down in history. And anytime that I need to remember what love really is, I think of them.
God blessed me with some amazing grandparents.
And that's only one of the many things that I'm thankful for.

Ravioli Face

Randomness from the MIL's Camera.

Sometimes when we are over at my MIL's, Jax does some really funny things.
And contrary to what many of you probably believe, I do not always have my camera on me.
So sometimes I have to use her camera. And last night I got some of the pictures off of her camera that I have been meaning to put on my computer.
Connie took this one a few Sunday's ago. Here's me and Baby Ava. She's getting so big! Little Man.
Silly boy.
One night he wanted more ranch, but the bottle was almost empty and we couldn't squirt any more out of it. So we just gave him the bottle. He decided to try to drink it.
Here's Jax standing by the standing broom. It really worked!
Connie took this picture. Wednesday night I left him with her for a few minutes so that I could run to town. She said he got quiet for a few minutes, so she figured he was on the computer. Not only was he on the computer... he was on the computer desk.
My men. They keep me laughing. Jax wanted him and his daddy to wear goggles while we were watching the Yankees game last night- so they did. It was hilarious!

Twinkie Birthday!

Last Wednesday night in the youth room, we celebrated Heather and Amy's 21st birthday.
Aren't they precious... Our friend Lindsey made them a beautiful cake...
Beautiful girls with beautiful cake...
They highlight of the night was the transformers pinata. We had so much fun trying to bust this thing. It was almost indestructible.
Aims tried to help Jax bust it...
And Heather even tried to bust it... but to no avail.
Ultimately, it took a group effort to get the candy out of that thing! Jax got some smarties and was all too excited.
Then Aims tried to put the transformers shoes on Jaxon.
My precious baby boy!

See?
Happy 21st Birthday Heather and Amy...
I am so blessed to call both of you friends.

Homie.

He's my little homie.

Justin's B-day/Pumpkin Painting (10-15)

A few Thursday nights ago, we finally got the chance to celebrate Justin's birthday with his family. Everyone has been so busy lately that we were having a hard time nailing down a day to do it. Along with celebrating his birthday, we also did our annual family pumpkin painting...
Here's me and my 26 year old husband... Jax and Daddy ready to blow out the candles.
Blow hard Jax!
Jax getting started painting his pumpkin.
Uncle Jon, Aunt Angie and Mya painting...
Kyler painting his pumpkin black.
Jax concentrating really hard...
Mommy helping Jaxon...
Ava painting. "Hey Kyler, what's 9x9?"
Rocking my sick baby. He did not feel well that night...
Family Pic...
Justin worked so hard on our family pumpkin by himself since I had to take care of Jax...
All of us. Paps is giving Kyler bunny ears...
One side of our pumpkin...
The front of our pumpkin... Justin did a great job!
Isn't this time of year just so much fun?

Pottying Cousins (10-15)

Here's our inspiration for wanting to use the potty lately.
Miss Moo Moo is doing awesome at potty training and hasn't wore diapers in over two weeks now. Jax wants to be like Moo Moo.
On this particular night at Nana and Paps' Jax had to sit on his potty everytime that Mya did, and he pee peed in the potty four times in like 45 minutes. Seriously.
She's his inspiration!

Underwear Model (10-13)

We've been working on potty training a little bit around here. Not much, just a little bit.
And here's little man in his big boy underwear. He loves wearing them...
but hasn't yet understood that he can't pee pee in them...
It's so sad how big he looks in his undies.
But he's pretty durn cute, too.
