'Til the Storm Passes By

Til the storm passes over
Til thunder sounds no more
Til the clouds roll forever from the sky-
Hold me fast, let me stand
In the Hollow of YOUR hand
Keep me saft, til the storm passes by...

------------------------------------------------------------

Our region has seen it's share of bad weather this week and tonight was no exception. There have been lives lost this week due to the weather- and this has turned me into one paranoid Momma. So tonight, we are spending the night at the in-laws house. I'm saying a special prayer for the family who has lost children this week, and I'm saying a prayer that the weather does not do what the meterologists have predicted...

I no longer like storms.

Knox's 1 Month Old Pics

Can't believe that our sweet, sweet boy is already one month old.
Dear Time,
Please slow down a bit. I have a baby that I need to hold.
Thank you,
Knox's Mommy

Where a Kid can be a Kid.

Yesterday I gave Jaxon some choices on where he might want to go to celebrate his birthday. He chose Chuck E. Cheese. So we weathered the torrential downpour this morning, and made our trek to the place where a kid can be a kid.
Daddy and Granny met us there. We ordered a pizza, but needless to say, the birthday boy wasn't exactly down with eating pizza. He was ready to play! We got him a little cake to eat on his birthday, but he didn't want to eat any cake either!
He did stop long enough to pose for a picture with Granny before making his way to the play area.
He played several games...
But more than anything, just wanted to play in the tunnels and go down the slide.
But he got a little scared and disoriented. Apparently he inherited his mother's sense of directions. So Daddy man had to climb up there and help him.
Yes friends, 6 foot 3 inch men do fit in the tunnels at Chuck E. Cheese....
I guess it really is where a "kid" can be a kid...
:)

3 Years Already...

Happy 3rd Birthday Jaxon Thorpe Mason! Jax,

We can't believe it's already been three years since the very first time we held you in our arms. As much as we loved you that day, there's absolutely no way that we could have dreamed that we'd love you as much as we do today...You are the light of our lives- and literally the funniest person that we know. We cannot wait to see all of the things that God has in store for your life- but for now we just want to play baseball and bee bee bumble bee with you and snuggle you as closely and tightly as we can because we don't even want to think about the next three years of your life going as quickly as the first three...
You're the best Jaxon ever and we love you more than our words could ever say.
Love,
Mommy, Daddy & Knox

Party Time!

Today was the day that Jaxon has been waiting for...
His 3rd Birthday Party!
He probably had the most amazing looking (and tasting) cake that I've ever seen... He's a pretty amazing looking little boy, too!

Daddy rented an awesome "Thomas the Train" inflatable for Jaxon and his friends to play on during the party. It was a hit! Jaxon didn't even really want to open presents or blow out his candles because he was so excited about his train...
Our family posed for a picture by the awesome cake.
Jax loved his birthday card from Mommy, Daddy and Knox because it sang "You've got a friend in me..."
He also loved this cool electric guitar that he got!
He blew out his candles...
but he needed a little help, so Mommy pitched in.
Jax and his friends took turns swinging at the pinata, and Jax finally busted it so that he could share the candy and goodies with all of his little friends.
Daddy helped him open a few more gifts...
He absolutely loved his grill! (Although he refers to it as a concession stand)
Jaxon had an awesome third birthday party!
Thank you so much to everyone that came out to celebrate this special day with us.
He sure is a loved little boy!

You Know...

...that the baby just wants to be held when he'll just lay on his big brother like this. But he does have a pretty good big brother to lay on...

Happy Valentine's Day...

to me...
You know you're doing something right when you can get both boys to crash on the couch long enough to actually get something accomplished.
It's a good day!
Happy Valentines Day, friends.

Winter Banquet 2011

Tonight was our annual Valentines Day/Winter Banquet at church...
This year we had a comedian/missionary/balloon artist speak at our banquet.
He did an awesome job making balloons for the kiddos!
Jaxon requested a blue dog first but also ended up getting a dinosaur and an alligator hat before the night was over with. I think Jax won him over when he told him, "You're so cool. You're so funny!" :) I love these boys...
Our little family posed for a picture.
I was so happy to be able to be back in church today, fellowshipping with my church family.
There are so many times that I gripe and complain about different things going on, or not going on, in the church that frustrates me, but when you miss for a few weeks, you realize how special that time and those people really are. I do love my church and I do love my church family!

Mama's Boy

We have a really funny picture of Justin hugging Jaxon when he was a newborn. Justin looks thrilled, but Jaxon looks really really angry.
Today, Justin decided that he wanted to take the same kind of picture with Knox.
Knox didn't look as angry as Jaxon did though. And I wanted to share this picture with you...

just because I thought it was toooo cute.

My Whole World

Knox's First (Real) Bath

Knox's umbilical cord finally fell off of his little belly button, so he got to get his very first real bath tonight. He didn't mind it too much! I had a pretty big helper helping me too...
It seems like just yesterday that I was giving Jaxon his first bath, now look how big he is...

Gravel Meets Knox.

With all of the sickness going around, up until today Knox had not got to meet his great-grandmother. However, today changed that. The boys and I took a trip to the nursing home and Gravel and Knox got to meet for the very first time. Needless to say, they fell in love :) When we got there Gravel was about to begin her physical therapy. So we stuck around and watched. She took 14 steps today... this is such a big deal because she has went months without even being able to put any weight on her legs. We promised her today that when she takes 25 steps, we will throw a big party!
Granny, Kacie, Addison and Justice met us there to visit with Gravel.
Here I had an arm full of babies!
Here's Granny and the grandkids...
I think she's pretty proud of them!
And here is Gravel with 4 of her 8 great grandchildren...
Today was a special day for me because one of the most important people in my life got to meet my son for the very first time.
Now I just hope that she'll hang around long enough to get to watch him grow up!
