Doctor's Office Update... The throwing up has improved a lot over the past week. Jax threw up twice last Friday at my mom's house and he threw up once Wednesday night. This is so so much better than how our past six weeks have gone, with vomitting occuring on an almost daily basis. We do have an appointment with a peediatric GI doctor in Vanderbilt on March 9 at 2:00, so please just be praying about that. On Tuesday we took him to the doctor at Murray for his 12 month well check, and for them to check his ears after finishing his second antibiotic. Unfortunately, he still had an ear infection. He had went through 2 different antibiotics, so the doctor decided that the best thing to do would be antibiotic shots, one in each thigh. Apparently the shots usually clear things up quickly. So, on his first birthday, he got two shots. They told us to come back on Thursday so they could check to see whether or not the antibiotic shots had completely cleared up his ears. They did warn us that if it hadn't, they would have to give him a second round of shots. So we went back on Thursday, and sure enough, he still had an ear infection. His left ear looked better, but his right ear looked worse. So on Thursday he got two more shots. I'm afraid that he is going to develop a phobia of the doctor's office... We go back on Wednesday to have his ears checked again. If the infection is still not cleared up, we will have to discuss having tubes put in his ears...
But on a lighter note, I do have a funny story from the doctor's office. The last thing that the nurse asks before she leaves the exam room each visit is my name to make sure I'm his mother. On Thursday we dealt with a nurse that we haven't had before. So as she was about to walk out, she said, "And you're Kendra." I said, "Yes." And Jaxon looked at her, and as plain and clear as ever said, "Kendra." We (the nurse and I) both started laughing... she looked at him and said, "Who's Kendra? Is Mommy Kendra?" He looked back at her and made his eyes really big and said, "Dada." Needless to say, it was hilarous!
