Gravel

As most of you know, Gravel has had a hard time here lately. Three weeks ago today, she was admitted into Lourdes hospital. We weren't sure that she would leave the hospital. We prayed hard for her (we still are)... I love my Gravel. I love this picture of me and her and Jax. Both of these people are huge blessings to me...
Wednesday afternoon when my Mom and I got to the hospital, this is what Gravel's arm looked like. Her hemoglobin levels have been down, so they had to give her blood twice. Apparently this time, they did not put the IV in her vain... so all the blood went right into her arm. Needless to say, my family was not very happy with this.

Love that smile.
On Saturday afternoon, Gravel got to come home from the hospital. I was excited, thinking surely that meant she was doing better. But when I saw her, my excitement faded. She looked really bad.
When home health came out to Gravel's house Saturday afternoon, they told my Mom that Gravel did not need to be at home. She was not well enough. My Mom called a friend of hers from church that works in the emergency room at Mayfield. Della told Mom to bring Gravel in. My family decided to take my grandma to Mayfield.
The doctors at Mayfield did a chest x-ray showing that my Gravel had pneumonia. So on Saturday night, she was admitted at Mayfield. And that's where she is at now, doing much, much better.

Three years ago today, I lost my Papaw. I'm so thankful to still have my Gravel here with me... and I pray that she has a few more years in her. There's nothing that I want more than for her to see my little boy grow up...
But God's ways are not mine, and I know that. If He chooses to call her home, then I'll be okay. I know she'll be with Papaw again, and I know that one day I'll be with her. But until then, I want to cheriish these days that I can still talk to her, still hug her, still hold her hand and still tell her that I love her.
Because it's crazy how much I do.

Kendra, I'm sorry your grandmother has had such a hard time, but I am thankful that she is doing much better. Hopefully, she will continue to improve and will be back home with you all very soon. We will continue to pray for all of you.
